May 2025 Updates

Progress on core features and new partnerships

New Blog: From DNS to 3DNS

We published a blog post explaining what makes onchain domains different from traditional ones. The post walks through the evolution from IP addresses to domain names to ENS, then to 3DNS as the connection between web2 and web3. The piece breaks down how domains become ERC-721 tokens that you control via your wallet, meaning transfers happen instantly without registrar approvals. We discuss how with 3DNS domains become programmable assets that can be traded easily or integrated into protocols. Read it here: From DNS to 3DNS

Visual and Marketing Refresh

We overhauled our visual identity with brighter, cleaner graphics. The new designs feature colorful graphics, simplified step-by-step flow icons, and better spacing and typography. The new graphics go over educational content such as how users can register various TLDs like .com, .xyz, or .ai onchain, link them to ENS, and use them for websites, wallets, or communities. The updated look is live on Twitter and  Farcaster.

Search V2 Nearly Ready

Our enhanced search experience is in final testing before launch. The new version addresses speed issues with the current search, particularly on mobile where the interface was slow to load. We rebuilt the backend to handle traffic spikes better, as the current system struggles during peak usage. Search V2 includes improved filtering by price range, TLD type, and availability status. The interface provides better visibility into domain pricing and listing information upfront. We're doing final testing to ensure everything works before rolling it out.

Partner Integration

We're developing an integration where 3DNS subdomains function as user profiles within another platform. Users will mint subdomains directly through the partner's interface, and those subdomains work as both their app identity and their onchain name. This shows how domains can become core infrastructure for other applications rather than just pointing to websites. This opens up possibilities for domains to serve as identity layers across multiple platforms. We expect to announce the partnership and launch details soon.
